The nebula is located in the central-southern part of the constellation, about 5 ° north of the star ζ Cephei. It is located on the edge of a vast complex of Hydrogen clouds whihc glows red in this image. Near the center of the image you will find a group of young stars of the ninth and tenth magnitude , dominated by HD 211880, a blue-white star of the main sequence of spectral class B0.5V with a magnitude of 7.74. This is an 8 hour image taken over several nights in October, 2014 and ending on October 24. The dark cloud in the lower right is reminiscent of the cloud that is part of the Horsehead Nebula in Orion, but there is no striking dark formation in this nebula.
