M33 (Hyperion first light)

This is a 'first light' image taken with the 12.5" Hyperion Astrograph. It's 1 hour and 30 minutes of RGB frames, including 30 minutes of h-alpha. I get a much more detailed photo at the longer focal length of the Hyperion, and you can compare it to the other image of M33 on this page taken with the Takahashi wide field refractor. This image was taken on October 8, 2009. Click on the image for a larger version. This is a fairly short exposure so the color is not as brilliant as the color that would result from a 6-8 hour exposure
